Haunted Mansion Model Completed!

Remember I told you about the 3D CGI model of Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. Remember that you could use the renderings to print out and make your own paper model of the frightfully scary Manse? Well Danny has just finished his and it looks awesome. Oh honey? What have you done with the X-acto… Read More »Haunted Mansion Model Completed!

Sign In at Walt Disney World

When I was a kid, Disney was gradiose, the characters larger-than-life
(literally), and this place was where all my dreams came true for a
day. Now, I focus on different things, my awareness and perception are
different, and my expectations much lower. The heat and high humidity
might have had something to do with it.

Douglas Bowman,  of the always significant StopDesign blog, has a post up that looks at his visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. The accompanying signage focused photo gallery is beautiful.

For a wonderful collection of Disney fonts visit MickeyAvenue.

Disney Wedding Music

Disney Weddings are quite popular for those brides and grooms who grew up watching Uncle Walt on TV. Plus there is something magical about getting married with a giant fairytale castle in the background. (Of course getting married in the park itself will set you back anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000.) When you chose to… Read More »Disney Wedding Music

We have the Adventure Through Inner Space DVD, an excellent recreation of the infamous ‘snogging’ ride. We also have the Haunted Mansion… Read More »Virtual Disneyworld: Constructed One Pixel At A Time

Disable Girl Urges Theme park Boycott

The headline for this story caught my eye: Disabled girl barred from theme park rides I remembered one woman, an annual passholder at Disneyland, who drove her motorized wheelchair recklessly, was repeatedly warned about it, then was banned for a period of time. So I thought it might be something like that. Turns out this… Read More »Disable Girl Urges Theme park Boycott

A Local’s view of Press Junket at Disney World

Starfish is a recent transplant to the Orlando area. Like most the first thing she wanted to do was get to Walt Disney World and soak in some of the fun. Well, what would happen if that first day was a press junket and celebrity event like the one that happened May 5th of this… Read More »A Local’s view of Press Junket at Disney World

Disneyland’s well-wishers

Well it appears the day went off fairly well, all things considered. The park was packed at times, but the gates never closed. Here’s a look around the net at some of the coverage. LaughingPlace.com kept sending photos of the event in real time via it’s ‘LIVE‘ cameraphone feature. The official 50th Anniversary Podcasts. The… Read More »Disneyland’s well-wishers

Disney requiring finger scanning for admission

One of the most frequent email questions I get is in regards to the finger scanning system that is now required for admission into the Walt Disney World properties. Tripp asked: Do you have any additional info on the story on local6.com – http://www.local6.com/news/4724689/detail.html – about Disney requiring the finger printing/scanning of ALL guests? I’ve… Read More »Disney requiring finger scanning for admission
