Disney Store Benefits

The most recent comment on the Disney Store thread by ‘Billy’ mentions the new status of Disney Discounts and Benefits that will be available to employees of The Disney Store now that they have been purchased by The Children’s Place. If Billy’s post is true, then it looks like The Disney Stores will end up… Read More »Disney Store Benefits

Disney Store, further analysis

Children’s Place does hope to open up a Disney Store Outlet chain which would be a driver for growth while decreasing the need to liquidate inside the main retail stores. Some things that will not change is that the Disney Store will continue to sell adult merchandise as well as theme park tickets. Over on… Read More »Disney Store, further analysis

More on Disney Store Licensing

CBS Marketwatch has an article with some more detail on the licensing of The Disney Store to The Children’s Place chain. Many heartfelt comments have been left at this previous… Read More »The Disney Stores going, going, gone…

Thus marks the end of a long chapter in the Walt Disney Company that was at one time both it’s biggest success and… Read More »Children’s Place buys The Disney Stores

The New Disney Stores

With the Disney owned The Disney Stores waning away the door is opened for Mom and Pop stores to pick up the slack and impart a little Disney magic on their own. “Where the Magic Begins” is a new store in California’s Bay Area attempting to do just that. If you’re in or around Livermore,… Read More »The New Disney Stores

The non-Disney Stores

The Children’s Place is one step closer to buying the once proud and vibrant chain of Disney Stores. The Disney Stores used to be known for providing a little bit of the Disney Magic via a cadre of highly trained employees (er Cast Members), a cache of unique Disney merchandise, and access to collectibe art and merchandise without having to visit one of the theme parks. Paul Pressler, who failed so miserably as President of Disneyland, led the charge of the Disney stores from 75 outlets to over 600. When he left to take the Disneyland position The Disney Stores seemed destined to be a strong part of The Walt Disney Company for the long term future.
