I’ve had the good fortune and the satisfied stomach of attending the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic 3 of the last 4 years. Each year I come away more impressed with the event and the opportunities guests enjoy to tase the best of local chefs and the global wine scene.

This is the sixth-annual Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic and it will once again be held over Halloween weekend – Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31.

All you need to attend is a Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic causeway ticket. It offers guests unlimited tastings at more than 40 stations featuring culinary selections from the hotel’s award-winning restaurants and wine from more than 30 wineries amidst a festive backdrop of live entertainment on the hotel’s scenic causeway. Upgraded ticket options allow guests to enjoy access to a beer garden featuring a wide selection of craft beers and Oktoberfest-inspired cuisine. The event also includes hands-on experiences with the hotel’s chefs and certified beverage experts in a variety of food and beverage seminars.

  • Advance-purchase, event-only tickets to enjoy unlimited tastings on the causeway are $105 per person
  • Upgraded tickets, including unlimited tastings on the causeway and access to the beer garden, are $125 per person
  • Beverage seminars are $45 per person, per class with the purchase of a causeway ticket
  • Pasta making, sushi and sake, and cheese seminars are $60 per person, per class with the purchase of a causeway ticket

I recommend taking at least one seminar (one each day is optimal).

Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic – A Royal Feast

How does one even begin to describe the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel Food and Wine Classic? It’s party, a festival, a soiree, wine tasting, fine dining, and neighborhood party all wrapped up into one. Add to that a beer garden, special food and wine educational seminars, and the opportunity to meet the chefs and top staff from the amazing restaurants inside the hotels and you have a terrific ticket. Then, you still get to enjoy the food tastings from each restaurant and discover new wines from around the globe.

The Food and Wine Classic really is the best value when it comes to food and wine anywhere on property. But it’s only one weekend a year. So remember to check the calendar come the end of summer next year and be sure to secure your tickets for next year’s event.

I started off my evening with a seminar on Wine Blending from the hotel’s top dog when it comes to dining – Tony Porcellini, ‎Director Food and Beverage at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. It was my first ever wine blending seminar. I learned a ton about wine and in the end blended my own Bordeaux. It was a fantastic experience and Porcellini was a fantastic host, sort of the Al Pacino of hotels.

From the seminars you move down onto the causeway between the two hotels. Every guest is provided a tray with a convenient holder for your wine glass. Water is provided at each station so you can rinse the previous taste from your glass. This was the BBQ pork from Cid’s Smokehouse, the clear winner of the night for me.Read More »Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic – A Royal Feast
