Good answer to Will you change travel plans question

I’ve had a few great responses to my desire to know how Disney’s recent spate of deaths and injuries has affected your travel plans, if at all. I’m happy to say that everybody appears to be fairly sane, is a little more cautious. I wanted to post this response I got through another channel as… Read More »Good answer to Will you change travel plans question

I’m sure they were going to tell them soon

Although it is not law in the state of California, it is industry practice to consult with a roller coaster’s manufacturer before making changes to the attraction. The OC Register is reporting that Disney made changes to some brake zones on California Screamin’ three months ago and didn’t tell Intamin, the ride’s manufacturer. More speculation from former ride operator

I personally doubt it was either operator error or mechanical failure. I actually think this was a software problem with the system. I believe the ride cascaded (backed-up) into zone 7 (the zone just before the picture is taken) and the train was captured and released too early. Disable Girl Urges Theme park Boycott

The headline for this story caught my eye: Disabled girl barred from theme park rides I remembered one woman, an annual passholder at Disneyland, who drove her motorized wheelchair recklessly, was repeatedly warned about it, then was banned for a period of time. So I thought it might be something like that. Turns out this… Read More »Disable Girl Urges Theme park Boycott

Response to Emergency Questioned

Note: Typepad, the host for this blog, is undergoing some upgrades right now. Please pardon the appearance of the Disney Blog until their work is done. The recent sad incident that involved the death of a 4-year old while experiencing Epcot’s Mission: Space put the spotlight on the theme park’s emergency reaction plans. General consensus… Read More »Response to Emergency Questioned

Judges Rule for higher safety standards in California

The recent tragic death of a 4-year old after riding Walt Disney World’s Mission: Space attraction at Epcot has highlighted the lack of oversight by local, state, or federal agencies for the Florida tourists destination.  Now California’s Disneyland theme park, which operates under some of the strictest state oversight in the nation, has just been… Read More »Judges Rule for higher safety standards in California
