Behind the Facade at Disney World

Now, when I drive down 192 heading to the Wal-Mart on 27, I see the Lodge peeking up from behind the trees. Not only is it near the property’s perimeter, but it’s within spitting distance of a gaudy neon tourist-trap strip that would make Walt spin in his cryogenic capsule. My favorite Celebration blogger, Barb,… Read More »Behind the Facade at Disney World

A little pixie shopping…

I’ve been looking for some new accessories for my car. I collect Disney antenna balls, but my new car doesn’t have an antenna. (The horror. The horror.) So I was thinking about some Disney themed plate frames, metal tags, and window decals. (I’m such a rebel.) I’ve been looking for the perfect stuff during my… Read More »A little pixie shopping…

Off Campus at Pixar

Pixar animator Sanjay Patel, has released a wonderful book called Little India that features incredibly cute characterizations of the major Hindu deities. I can see a great ‘it’s a small world’ style attraction based on these character designs. (via)

Baby Rhino at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Walt Disney World animal care team has been excited as Kendi, a first-time mom, welcomed her new baby daughter, Kayla, to Disney’s Animal Kingdom family. Zap2it reports that ABC’s popular show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has been renewed. No word on if they’ll keep the Monday night edition "How’d They Do That" or just do more two hour versions of the Sunday night show. I know I’d love to see more family updates and more details of each room and… Read More »More Ty, Preston, Paige, and Paul

New Laughing Place Magazine

Disney themeparks around the world are now flooded with signage and merchandise (see the LaughingPlace Store for the best selection) to honor Disneyland’s 50th anniversary. But the one collectible publication everyone will need this year isn’t even produced by the Walt Disney Company. Nope. It’s issue two of the new magazine Tales from the Laughing… Read More »New Laughing Place Magazine

Some Weekend Reading

Just added a few trip reports to the list on the right. Three Kid Circus, a good parenting blog, is a hillarious recounting of one family’s Disneyland vacation. Start at this point and read the next three posts for all the juicy deets. Brandon, from my old stomping grounds of Portland Oregon, sent me a… Read More »Some Weekend Reading
