Dancing with the Stars: Rumba and Paso

As John mentioned, last week I was out of town. In fact, I spent all last week at DisneyWorld. It was my first trip there. I am exhausted, but it was completely worth it.

But now it’s back to the real world, and part of that means getting to recap/share my thoughts on Dancing with the Stars with you. I did get to watch part of last week. (My stupid DVR decided not to record Tuesday for whatever reason. And that was a Quickstep night, one of my favorites!) So I have a little idea what happened then.

I do want to comment on the over exposed memo that has been floating around. (I’ve seen it several places today.) Every season when the show starts, they take up the majority of a week. The last two seasons have started with one round of dancing Monday, a continuation of that round of dancing Tuesday, and results on Wednesday. The only reason people are harping on it this time is because of Ted McGinley. And seriously, if you are going to announce that any show he is in is on the way out automatically, then I can’t take you seriously either. (Not that I am too familiar with his work. But still.)

So, on to this week’s performances. (And remember, I am still on East Coast time even though I am back in California. I’m just saying.)Read More »Dancing with the Stars: Rumba and Paso

Dancing with the Stars, was 5 hours too much?

Disney devoted 5 hours of primetime tv to its Dancing With The Stars franchise this week. The end result was to kick the two male comedians (Ted McGinley and Jeffrey Ross) off the bloated roster. Perhaps they could have done that and risked not over-exposing… Read More »Dancing with the Stars, was 5 hours too much?

I still Heart Mickey says Miley Cyrus

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet equivilant of those supermarket tabloid rags. Miley Cyrus and her dad are perfectly happy serving out the end of their sentence on Disney’s Hannah Montana. Sure, she could make more money in film or music. But what… Read More »I still Heart Mickey says Miley Cyrus

Legend of the Seeker promo shots

Another show I’m looking forward to this fall is “Legend of the Seeker.” The book series upon which it’s based has a huge following for a good reason, it’s a powerful story. The show will be produced by Disney, but won’t be on ABC or ABC Family, instead it’s going directly to syndication. So beginning November 1, 2008, check your local listings for time and channel.

Disney has now released these promo photos (two more below the cut) and have some short video trailers at the official site. Here’s the official blurb:

“Legend of the Seeker” picks up during the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father told in “The Sword of Truth.” According to author Terry Goodkind, ( who is also the writer for several of the TV series scripts), a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher’s forest sanctuary seeking help…and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence. In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword-to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed…or that their time has run out. This is the beginning. One story. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend.

I miss LOST

Man, I miss LOST. The new season is still a few months away and I’m beginning to feel like it will never come. It’s a good thing ABC’s publicists are slowly dealing out the love via articles and interviews with some of the show’s biggest… Read More »I miss LOST

Retooled “Life On Mars” set to hit big in USA

Fans of the Brit hit “Life On Mars” know what an amazing story the original series told. So when successful television producer David E. Kelley screwed up the US port of the show for ABC, we were legitimately worried that the American version would never… Read More »Retooled “Life On Mars” set to hit big in USA
