Narnia: Prince Caspian Trailer

We’re just a few months away from the second film in the Narnia series. You can catch the amazing trailer over on Apple.com. Judging by the trailer the film has captured the same magical feel that of the first series this should be a great flick. Save the date for the movie’s premier on May… Read More »Narnia: Prince Caspian Trailer

Disney’s Hollywood Studios, some photos

Have uploaded to Flickr a short set of photos taken at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today. Lots of signage missing or yet to be replaced. Also includes a look at the construction of Toy Story Mania and the deconstruction of the Hunchback Theater. I’ve also included a few photos from the MK and of the growing,… Read More »Disney’s Hollywood Studios, some photos

Disney Revisionism Revisited

I linked to this article on Disney Revisionism in my quick link roundup because I didn’t have time to write a full review of the article as I had originally intended. Jeff Pepper read the story and found it lacking in veracity. He offered this rebuke to the article that he has allowed me to… Read More »Disney Revisionism Revisited

SeaWorld leaking salt-water into Florida’s Drinking Water Supply?

The Orlando Sentinel has found official papers which indicate that leaks from SeaWorld’s salt water tanks have been leaking into the aquifers that make up much of the drinking water supply in Central Florida. The problem was first detected in early 2000, when SeaWorld was preparing to open Discovery Cove. After they filled up the… Read More »SeaWorld leaking salt-water into Florida’s Drinking Water Supply?

Roundup – January 11th

For the Weinstein brothers, one of the advantages of having left The Walt Disney Company is that you get to strike your own deals with striking writers and actors guilds. That’s exactly what the Weinstein Co has done. Everybody and their sister has linked to them already, but in case you haven’t seen then, click… Read More »Roundup – January 11th

Chief Magic Official wanted at Disney’s Theme Parks

To coincide with the second year of a million dreams promotion, Disney’s global parks division is having another "job search". Last year it was 20 lucky guests who got to work their dream jobs at a Disney theme park. This year they’re just looking for one lucky guest, but that guest will have the job of Chief Magic Official.

As Disney’s CMO you’ll help award magical prizes and grant amazing wishes. You’ll actually get paid to be flown around to Disney’s various theme parks and help make the magic. I don’t know about you, but that pretty much sounds like my dream job.

To apply you’ll need to make a 60 second video resume (be prepared to have it follow you around the rest of your life – so make it cool) and submit it to www.DreamCMO.com (you’ll probably want to add it to YouTube too). Donald has already submitted his video resume (although he missed the part about it being just 60 seconds). And you don’t want that grouch to run Disney’s Magic, so you’d better come up with your own application.

My chief complaint with the YOMD promotion and with this CMO search is that these are the things Disney’s parks should be doing on a regular basis. Why doesn’t Disney have a CMO of their own with a staff who actually has some ability to make magic happen on a regular basis? No contest or sweepstakes required. Just Disney Magic.

I’ve added the full press release below the cut if you still want more deets.

Wednesday Roundup – January 9th

A huge pile up on the I-4 south of Disney this morning has resulted in many injuries and at least 4 deaths. Sadly one of those deaths was a Disney cast member. This stretch is known for heavy fog and a nearby fire didn’t help. Let’s be careful out there, okay. The Orlando Sentinel’s coverage… Read More »Wednesday Roundup – January 9th
