Actress Jennifer Aniston has been attached to produce a re-imagining of the classic 1980 comedy “9 to 5” for Disney’s 20th Century Studios, and here’s what we know.

The Details

The original version of the film starred Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin, as a trio of office workers who take revenge on their horrible and sexist boss, played by Dabney Coleman.

It was also the basis for a sitcom in the 1980s that ran for five seasons and starred Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers, as well as a 2009 Broadway musical, which ran about six months, but earned four Tony Award nominations.

Jennifer Aniston will produce under her Echo Films label with Kristin Hahn. Her company has also produced films like “Murder Mystery 2,” “Dumplin'” (which featured a soundtrack by Dolly Parton), “Cake,” and “The Switch.”

The film is in the early process of coming together, but Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (“Juno,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “Lisa Frankenstein”) has been retained to write the script.

No word if Aniston will play one of the lead roles. Also no word if Parton, Fonda, and Tomlin will cameo in this new version, but it’d be awesome if they did.
