Disney Cruise Line has released an update on the progress of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, which will be the newest port of call for its Caribbean cruises once finished.
The Details
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, and is expected to open this summer.
This special new island destination is inspired by Junkanoo, a longstanding Bahamian tradition celebrating the unique culture of this beautiful country.
Cabanas
Last year, Disney released concept art of Mabrika Cove Cabanas, which will feature premium family cabanas available to rent, including double cabanas that accommodate larger groups and offer massage services.
And now we have a photo of the colorful constructed cabanas nestled along the white sand and turquoise Bahamian waters.
The colorful patterns on the roofs were created by a Bahamian artist, and with the cabanas being among the first things guests see as the ship arrives, they will set a tone for the vibrant and beautiful architecture throughout the island destination.
True-True Too BBQ
We also get a look at the under-construction True-True Too BBQ, whose architecture is meant to resemble colorful, oversized seashells.
The restaurant will served up a tasty island BBQ-inspired menu to cruise guests.
Island Tram Stop
Disney also offered a peek at the progress of what will soon be a tram stop for guests to get from the ship into Lookout Cay.
This shopping center doesn’t look like much now, but it will soon be filled with the bright colors that will light up the destination, with shops that offer hair braiding, merchandise, and more.
New Outfits for Mickey and Minnie
Keeping with the colorful Bahamian theme of Lookout Cay, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will sport new looks specially designed by acclaimed Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett with a Junkanoo flair when at Lighthouse Point.
