Bluey fans! Disney Branded Television, BBC Studios Kids & Family and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) have announced that the next installments of “Bluey,” including an extended length special, will premiere this April worldwide, including on Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney Channel.
The Details
The special, called “The Sign,” marks “Bluey’s” longest ever episode at 28 minutes (the average episode is half that). No story details have been revealed, but it’s twice as much Bluey and her family!
“The Sign” is jam-packed with voice talent: Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti will reprise their roles as the voices of Bandit and Chilli Heeler. Patrick Brammall returns as the voice of Uncle Rad, alongside Megan Washington as Calypso, Claudia O’Doherty as Frisky, Myf Warhurst as Trixie, and Rose Byrne as Brandy.
Making their Bluey voice debut, this special episode introduces Rove McManus, Deborah Mailman, Brendan Williams, and Joel Edgerton.
It will premiere on April 14, 2024, first via ABC Kids in Australia, and then roll out globally the same day across Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney Channel in all other available regions (with the exception of China and New Zealand).
Even better, the special will be preceded a week earlier, on April 7th, by another, brand-new episode called “Ghostbasket,” which will also have a same-day worldwide airing similar to the special.
The official “Bluey” site says “Ghostbasket” sees the return of the much loved Grannies, Janet and Rita, played by Bluey and Bingo, and sets the stage for the hotly anticipated 28 minute special.
Both “Ghostbasket” and “The Sign” are written by Bluey creator and writer Joe Brumm, directed by Richard Jeffery, and produced by Ludo Studio, which says:
“We’re so excited to share ‘Ghostbasket,’ a brand new Bluey episode followed by ‘The Sign’ which is the equivalent to nearly six Chunky Chimps! The crew have worked so hard on these two new episodes, making them the very best that they can be and we can’t wait to share them with a global audience.”
New episodes of “Bluey” last came to Disney+ in January 2024.
