In addition to a new “Deadpool and Wolverine” trailer, this year’s Super Bowl was also home to the debut of a new trailer for “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.”
The Details
Set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, we see that apes are the dominant species, while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
I’ve gotta say the action sequences look really good in this trailer, and I might even be persuaded to see it in IMAX.
Directed by Wes Ball, the film stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”).
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” arrives in theaters May 10, 2024.
The Trailer
Though we had a teaser for the film a few months ago, this full-length first look highlights the major characters, and the conflict that occurs between the two apes: one wanting to save humanity; the other wanting to keep it enslaved.
