Following the airing of the “Doctor Who” Christmas special on December 25, the BBC confirmed that the new season of the series will return in Spring 2024.
The Details
The new season, the first full one with the new Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and his companion, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), will air on the BBC in the UK and Ireland, and on Disney+ elsewhere, in May 2024.
Yasmin Finney and Bonnie Langford are reprising their respective roles as Rose Noble and Mel Bush in the new season, plus as previously announced, Jinkx Monsoon will debut as the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.
Guest stars already announced include Indira Varma (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”) as the Duchess and Lenny Rush as Morris, along with Jonathan Groff (“Frozen”), who has a mysterious key role.
Sneak Peek
The BBC ended the Christmas special with a sneak peek at the season to come, which finds the time-traveling duo heading to Swinging Sixties London, where they sit in on an Abbey Studios recording session. We also get glimpses of many of the major players in the season, as the two also end up in Victorian England.
