The annual “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” returns to ABC in its 40th year, and will air this year on Monday, December 25th.
Siblings Derek and Julianne Hough return to host the holiday special, with co-hosts country music star Mickey Guyton and “The Golden Bachelor” host Jesse Palmer.
The show features holiday festivities from Disneyland and Walt Disney World, along with performances from Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i and aboard Disney Cruise Line.
Performances
In addition to the parade itself, musical performances for the “40th Anniversary Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” will include the following:
- Derek Hough and Julianne Hough – “Good Morning” and “Deck the Halls” Medley
- Ariana DeBose – “This Wish” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish”
- Chrissy Metz – “Silver Bells”
- The Smashing Pumpkins – “Evergreen” (A new original holiday song)
- Iam Tongi – “Mele Kalikimaka”
- The Broadway and North American Tour Cast of Disney’s “Aladdin” – “Friend Like Me”
- Meg Donnelly – “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)”
- Michael Bolton – “Joy to the World”
There will also be a special look back at some of the most iconic performances from years past, with the following:
- NSYNC (1998) – “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”
- Gwen Stefani (2018) – “Winter Wonderland”
- Mary J. Blige and David Foster (2013) – “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
How to Watch
“Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” will air on ABC Christmas morning, December 25th, from 10am-12pm EST/9am-11am PST.
The special will also stream on both Hulu and Disney+ the day after (December 26th).
“Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” is produced by Disney executive and senior executive producer Sally Conner for Disney Parks, along with production company Film 45 Live and executive producers Michael Antinoro and Richard Godfrey.
How do you get tickets to the Disneyland Parade that is shown on Christmas Day???? If you go to Disneyland on Christmas Day is it just like a regular day at Disneyland in Anaheim?
Hi Shirley! The Disney holiday specials shown Thanksgiving weekend and on Christmas Day on ABC are both filmed over a one or two day span at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in early November, so they have time to edit the specials together. Most of the tickets to those filming days go to cast members and their families, and filming days can run long. If you just want to see the parade in person, it runs daily at Disneyland through January 7, 2024 this season.
