The Disney Treasure is one year out from its first sailing, and construction of the Disney Treasure hasn’t slowed down at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany.
A lot of progress has taken place on the ship in recent weeks, including the lifting of the forward and aft funnels to their rightful place on top of the ship.
The Details
These funnels aren’t just for looks. In addition to being focal points on top of the ship, guests will also be able to plunge through the forward funnel while riding the AquaMouse, Disney’s attraction at sea, plus they’ll be able to watch their favorite Disney movies via the Funnel Vision screen by the family pool..
And the two-story EPCOT-themed Tomorrow Tower Suite will also be found in one of the funnels. This one-of-a-kind 2-story penthouse will feature 2 main bedrooms, a library/bedroom and a children’s room, along with 4.5 bathrooms, and “upgraded amenities.”
The last time we heard about the funnels, the shipyard had just received delivery of them.
The Ship
The Disney Treasure is the second in a trio of new ships that includes the already sailing Disney Wish, that emphasizes fuel efficiency and energy conservation features.
It will also be home to a “Haunted Mansion”-themed parlor/lounge, and several shows including a new Broadway-style musical called “Disney The Tale of Moana,”“Beauty and the Beast,” and the original stage spectacular “Disney Seas the Adventure.”
