The Emmy-nominated 1980s television series, “Moonlighting,” starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd will finally be available to stream when it makes its debut on Hulu on October 10, 2023.

The Details

Hulu says that each episode of the series has been remastered in HD from the original film source.

Each episode will also feature the original Grammy-nominated title track recording from Al Jarreau. Music rights have been a big part of why the series hasn’t appeared on a streaming service yet, but it appears they’ve finally been secured.

Moonlighting

The Show

“Moonlighting” centered on the tale of a broke fashion model named Maddie Hayes (Shepherd), who gets heavily involved in a detective agency that she owns…one that also happens to employ a smart alecky P.I. named David Addison Jr. (Willis).

Over the seasons the will they/won’t they aspect between the two characters was stressed as much as the actual cases the agency worked.

The series, created by Glen Gordon Caron, also co-starred Allyce Beasley costarred as the agency’s receptionist Agnes DiPesto, and Curtis Armstrong as temp-turned-junior detective Herbert Viola.

It originally ran for 67 episodes across five seasons from 1985 to 1989 on ABC.
