This spring, it was announced that Disney would host a Disney 100 Film Festival for Japanese audiences, and the films that were picked have been revealed.
The Details
As Disney celebrates its 100th anniversary worldwide, its Japan subsidiary has picked 8 films from the Disney Animation catalog of 61 films, and will show them in 100 movie theaters across the country during October 2023.
The festival will take place every weekend of the month, in 100 theaters nationwide.
Each ticket purchased also comes with a collector acrylic stand themed to each movie. They are pictured below.
The Films
The festival kicks off October 7th with “Frozen,” and then “Big Hero Six” on October 8th.
The following weekend will have the 1950 animated “Cinderella” on October 14th, followed by “Moana” on October 15th.
The third weekend will feature 1989’s animated “The Little Mermaid” on October 21st, paired with “Zootopia” on October 22nd.
And the festival will close with “Tangled” on October 28th, and “Fantasia” on October 29th.
Tickets are on sale at each participating theater for Japan’s Disney 100 Film Festival.
And don’t forget in the U.S. Disney 100 Film Festival has two films left to enjoy in theaters: “The Lion King” (1994) Sept. 29-Oct. 12; and “Moana” (2016) Oct. 13-26.
