Disney announced in 2022 that The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be opening at the Boardwalk at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas at Walt Disney World in 2023. But Rogers recently posted to social media that the opening of her shop has been pushed until early 2024.

In an Instagram post, Gwendolyn Rogers said, “All of us at The Cake Bake Shop are eager to unveil the beautiful details and charm that are coming to Disney’s BoardWalk! As the excitement is building and our hearts are brimming with anticipation, we expect to open our doors early next year to welcome you to an unforgettable dining experience. Stay connected with us for more details leading up to our opening.”
About the Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be a new table service restaurant and bakery that will be located at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, in the space formerly occupied by ESPN Club, which never reopened from the pandemic closure.
Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, there are currently two locations for The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which has won many accolades since opening in 2014, including making Oprah’s Favorite Things List for 2019 for the Blueberry and Maple Walnut Crumb Cake.
The new Walt Disney World location will offer both savory and dessert menus, along with afternoon tea service. A look at her other locations’ menus shows dishes like Truffle Pommes Frites, Salmon Sliders, salads, quiches, and a 12-Layer Club Sandwich on the savory menu.
