Even though Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary has come to a close, Disney has decreed the Fab 50 character statues will remain in the parks, with a bit of alteration.

The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection was created to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, and featured 50 of Disney’s most beloved characters cast in gold.
Over the next few months, Disney Imagineers will be sprinkling a touch of timeless pixie dust to refresh the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection across all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks.
This will include removing any emblems that reference the 50th anniversary, and touching up the paint.
Each of the statues will continue to interact with MagicBand+, as well.
Coming Up
The Disney100 Celebration kicks off at EPCOT starting this Friday, September 22, and before the end of the year will see the kick-off of a new nighttime show, “Luminious: The Symphony of Us,” which debuts on December 5, 2023.
