Disney says that new menu items will be coming to the Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, and we have a first look at the dishes.
Breakfast
Guests can start their day with two new breakfast items, the savory Breakfast Flatbread or the sweeter Minnie Cinnamon Roll dipped in red-colored white chocolate.
Lunch/Dinner
For lunch and dinner, guests have several new options, including an updated version of the classic Four-Cheese Grilled Cheese & Tomato-Basil Soup. The sandwich features aged cheddar, Irish white cheddar, provolone, and shredded Parmesan on griddled Brioche bread, and it’s served with Tomato-Basil Soup. The soup will also be available as a side.
If you like a bit of heat, try the Spicy Chicken Sandwich which features a crispy chicken breast topped with pepper jack, chipotle rémoulade, arugula, seasoned tomato, and dill pickle chips, served on a brioche bun.
Starting at 4pm daily, Contempo Café will have new Signature Rice Bowls. These feature a mix of cilantro-lime rice, black beans, street corn, avocado, pico de gallo, carrot, and pickled red onion. Customize them with a choice of protein: grilled shrimp, braised beef, grilled chicken, or plant-based crispy tofu.
Sweets
Regardless of when you visit, nothing tops off a meal like a sweet treat, and there are several that will be added to the menu starting on August 16.
The Monorail S’more Brownie is a nod to the monorail that wizzes by overhead while you dine. It features a fudgy brownie with a graham cracker crust topped with marshmallow crème and chocolate décor.
The 5-Legged Goat Fruit Tart draws inspiration from the iconic Mary Blair Grand Canyon Concourse mural’s 5-Legged Goat, and features a vanilla tart shell filled with raspberry-lemon curd topped with fresh fruit and lemon whipped cream.
The Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums Cupcake is a chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate chip cookie dough mousse is inspired by “The Incredibles.”
The new Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar is also sure to satisfy chocolate fans and is plant-based as well as gluten and wheat friendly.
There are also three new Signature Deluxe Cookies that will be available:
- A Chocolate Chunk Cookie with peanut butter buttercream
- A Churro Cookie with cinnamon buttercream
- A Kitchen Sink Cookie featuring a chocolate chip cookie with salted caramel, Mickey chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch, and walnuts
And a limited-time sugar cookie will be available until September 30, 2023. It’s the the Strawberry Lemonade Sugar Cookie that is topped with strawberry buttercream and patriotic sprinkles.
The Restaurant
The Contempo Café is located on the main concourse area of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, with views of the monorail while dining.
This quick service restaurant is open 7am to 11pm, and has mobile ordering available.
