Today, August 6, is National Tree Day, which makes it a perfect day for Marvel Studios and Disney+ to announce season two of “I Am Groot” by releasing a trailer and key art.
The Details
The second season of “I Am Groot” will feature five new shorts featuring the younger version of the Guardians of the Galaxy fave.
Vin Diesel will once again voice Baby Groot in his animated misadventures, and Kirsten Lepore returns as writer and director for the new batch of stories.
All five shorts will debut on Disney+ on September 6, 2023.

Groot’s new adventures include an intergalactic ice cream truck, a snowman, some hot chocolate, and more.

The Series
“I Am Groot” premiered its first season with five shorts on Disney+ on August 10, 2022.
This series takes place following the events of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1” when adult Groot sacrificed himself to save his friends, but was regenerated from a sapling Rocket saved.
Producers for the series are Craig Rittenbaum and Alex Scharf. Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Kirsten Lepore are serving as executive producers with Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt as a co-executive producer.
The Poster
The first key art for the new season has Baby Groot looking a little disgruntled.
