Marvel Studios Drops New Second Trailer for “The Marvels”

The Marvels
.

After a brief social media countdown, a new second trailer was released last night for Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero film, “The Marvels.”

The Trailer

This new trailer reveals more of the plot, including a tease of how the powers of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) are suddenly linked together.

The trailer also features Kree Supreme Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), who appears to have a score to settle with Carol Danvers, as well as a brief shot of Prince Yan (Park Seo-joon), a monarch from the planet of Aladna, who Captain Marvel once helped.

We also get more Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who seems to have made it out of the “Secret Invasion,” and not just more Goose, but…gasp…what looks like baby Flerken!

Plus a killer remix of The Beastie Boys’ hit “Intergalactic” provides the trailer’s theme song.

Take a look:

The Film

Directed by Nia DaCosta and written Megan McDonnell, the film is set after the adventures in “Ms. Marvel” and “Secret Invasion,” and finds Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Larson) has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence.

But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe, and when her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel (Vellani), and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Parris), who appeared to gain powers of her own at the end of the “WandaVision” series.

Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work with each other to save the universe. The only problem? The heroes are somehow linked together, and any time one of them uses their powers, they switch locations with one another.

The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Park Seo-joon, Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Zawe Ashton.

“The Marvels” will hit theaters on November 10th, 2023.
