The French national holiday of Bastille Day was celebrated in France on July 14, 2023, and Disneyland Paris closed out the night with a spectacular that included both fireworks and drones in honor of the holiday.
The Show
As part of Europe’s largest drone show yet, 1,495 drones illuminated the sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park, forming several symbols of French culture such as the French flag, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral.
It was so large, it set a record!
Combining pyrotechnics, lights and breathtaking drone choreography, the show served as a captivating homage highlighting both Disneyland Paris and France.
It also celebrated Disney and Pixar classics with French connections, such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “The Aristocats,” and “Ratatouille.”
The record-breaking nighttime show is the result of a successful collaboration of more than four months between Disneyland Paris entertainment teams, and Dronisos, its official technology supplier and a European leader in drone shows.
The two have also collaborated recently on both the award-winning nighttime spectacular “Disney D-Light,” and the sensational drone show “Avengers: Power the Night,” which Disneyland Paris says will return to Walt Disney Studios Park from September 1 to November 5, 2023.
