Searchlight Pictures’ “Theater Camp” will debut in theaters this weekend, with special screenings in New York City and Los Angeles with the filmmakers and various cast members.

The Film

Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Molly Gordon star in the new original comedy “Theater Camp” as Amos and Rebecca Diane – lifelong best friends and drama instructors at a rundown camp in upstate New York.

When clueless tech-bro Troy (Jimmy Tatro) arrives to run the property into the ground from his sister and camp founder Joan (Amy Sedaris), Amos, Rebecca-Diane, and production manager Glenn (Noah Galvin) band together with the staff and students to stage a masterpiece, and keep their beloved summer camp afloat.

Patti Harrison, Nathan Lee Graham, Ayo Edebiri, Owen Thiele, Alan Kim, Alexander Bello, Bailee Bonick, Kyndra Sanchez, Donovan Colan, Vivienne Sachs, Quinn Titcomb, and Caroline Aaron co-star.

The film is also directed by Molly Gordon with Nick Lieberman, and written by Noah Galvin, Molly Gordon, Nick Lieberman, and Ben Platt.

Searchlight Pictures acquired “Theater Camp” following its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Ensemble.
