Poor Disneyland Paris … in the midst of cast member union strikes (which are currently on hold while talks occur), its operations are now being impacted by the current unrest in France.
The Details
The unrest in France is due to protests over the killing of a 17-year-old, who was shot by police. Because there is violence occurring during these protests, Disneyland Paris is taking steps to ensure the safety of its Guests and Cast Members.
On July 1 and 2, both Disneyland Paris parks will close at 9:30pm to allow everyone visiting or working to get home safely.
Due to the early closure, “Disney Dreams!” will not be performed either night, and Disney Village restaurant and shops will also be closing at 11pm.
There is no notice on the Disneyland Paris website, but French Disney site DLP Report caught an audio announcement of these details inside the parks:
In addition, French Disney site ED92 reports that public trams and buses will now be fully suspended every evening from 9pm in Île-de-France until further notice.
Île-de-France is the region that encompasses Paris and the Disney parks.
If we hear of further announcements regarding the unrest for future dates, we’ll let you know.
Sending Pixie Dust to cast members and guests for a safe journey home this weekend!
