Disneyland Paris Warns of More Strike Disruptions for Guests Visiting June 19, 2023

Due to the ongoing strike by union workers, Disneyland Paris has again issued a warning to Guests who are planning to visit, this time on Monday, June 19, 2023.

The Warning

Disneyland Paris, which is wrapping up its 30th Anniversary celebrations, has issued the following warning via its social media:

Due to a planned strike at Disneyland Paris by part of our staff on Monday 19th June, certain shows or activities may be disrupted or even cancelled.

The Disney Parks and Hotels will remain open and we will do everything possible to continue to provide the best experience possible. If you wish, you are welcome to postpone your visit to a later date.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

The Dispute

Unionized workers at Disneyland Paris have been fighting for higher wages since the beginning of May 2023.

The strikers have asked for a monthly wage increase of €200, so their pay keeps pace with inflation. They are also requesting increased mileage allowances, and more flexible scheduling.

These protests, unlike union disputes at the U.S. parks, have spilled over into the Disneyland Paris parks, with striking workers disrupting shows and even, most recently on June 5, the nighttime spectaculars.

There was a recent truce on in-park strikes due to a planned Make-A-Wish event, but it appears with both sides unable to come to an agreement, the strikes are back on.

We’ll keep you posted as this progresses.

  1. Thank you very much for the important reports.
While we must respect their right to voice concerns, we also cannot ignore the impact on tourists, many of whom are facing disrupted vacation plans. In these challenging times, we find ourselves hoping for a swift and fair resolution that addresses the needs of employees while restoring the magical experience for guests. Let’s remember the spirit of Disneyland – a place where dreams come true – and anticipate a return to joy, laughter, and enchantment.
