Disney has offered a first look at the ‘Steamboat Willie’ Splash Pad that will be a part of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel when it opens September 2023.
A Nod to the Past
Families staying at this newest DVC tower at Disneyland will be able to let their young ones enjoy this fun nod to Walt’s beginnings.
Featuring Steamboat Willie‘s boat in the center, the splash pad has imaginative water play features, including a small cascading waterfall on the boat’s “windows,” misty fog effects rising from the boat’s funnels, and a variety of pop jets and fountains.
And of course, Steamboat Willie can be found at the wheel of the boat, which makes for a fun photo op, too.

And though the boat is black and white during the daytime, Disney says after dark, the boat will be colorized with artistic lighting.
The ‘Steamboat Willie’ Splash Pad sits adjacent to the Palette Pool, named for the artistic palatte shape of the swimming pool, and the Palm Breeze Bar which will be serving up refreshing drinks and snacks.
Disney says the whole cool-down area has a mid-century modern feel which is inspired by the imaginative artistry of Disney Legend, Mary Blair.
The Villas
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will be the fourth tower, newly named the “Discovery Tower,” at the award-winning Disneyland Hotel, offering more than 340 rooms in a variety of villa-style themed accommodations ranging from studios to grand villas.
Each room will showcase modern décor inspired by Disney Animation classics such as “The Jungle Book,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Fantasia,” and more.
The lobby will also feature a one-of-a-kind mural created exclusively for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel by Disney Animation artist Lorelay Bové, known for her work on classics from “The Princess and the Frog” to “Encanto.”
Guests staying in this new DVC tower will have access to all of the amenities at the Disneyland Hotel, including whirlpool spas, 3 more pools, and a new state-of-the-art fitness center.
