‘Marvel Move’ Aims to Get Fans to Exercise With Help from Marvel Characters

Marvel Move

Marvel wants to make every walk, jog, and run an adventure with “Marvel Move,” a new interactive fitness adventure in partnership with Six to Start, the co-creators of “Zombies, Run!”

Run with Heroes and Villains

This new mobile fitness app features immersive audio-based running routines with popular Marvel Comics characters.

Combining workout tracking with guidance and storytelling, “Marvel Move” delivers thrilling interactive audio adventures to users via their headphones as they walk, jog, or run in the real world.

Instead of passively listening to instructions, users become protagonists in epic and motivating Super Hero stories. As users progress through episodes, they collect items, earn coveted trophies, and receive emails that extend the narrative beyond their runs.

Marvel and Six to Start state the workouts are for users of all abilities, so the user can even track their activity while in a wheelchair.

“Marvel Move” allows users to have complete control over the time and distance of their runs, with the ability to intensify or slow down their workout. There’s even a way to integrate the user’s own music into the audio adventure.

Marvel Move

To start, there will be five ongoing storylines for users to choose from:

  • Thor & Loki: Asgard 5K Training – Guided by Thor and Loki, users get 24 fully voiced workouts over eight weeks. The program is expert-designed to train the user for a full 5K.
  • X-Men: Age of ORCHIS – Listeners are recruited to work alongside the X-Men in Krakoa where they must take down mutantkind. The audio story features characters like Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey, and more.
  • The Hulk: Hulkville – Run from the authorities with Bruce and Betty Banner who are trying to hide Hulk from the world.
  • Daredevil: Terminal Degree – As new students at a prestigious law school, listeners meet Daredevil, and help him bring down a dangerous criminal underworld.
  • Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch: In Dreams – An audio tour guide with Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch, where you need help to escape a place you’ve never visited.

“Marvel fans have a deep connection to the storylines in the comics, so we’re very excited for them, along with our newer fans, to experience new adventures with the characters they know and love,” said Ryan Penagos, Marvel Vice President & Creative Executive in a statement.

“I started my own fitness journey with the ‘Zombies, Run!’ training program years ago, and I can confidentially say the Marvel Universe is in excellent hands when it comes to bringing our fans an epic adventure in fitness!”

A Peek at the App

Here is a promo video put together to introduce this fitness app. I’ve got to be honest…I’m not sure how motivating I’d find Hulk grunting in my headphones, but to each their own:
