Guardians of the Galaxy: A Popcorn Bucket, A Playlist, and A Trip to Knowhere

Guardians of the Galaxy: A Popcorn Bucket, A Playlist, and A Trip to Knowhere

We’re only a couple of weeks away from Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 3 hitting theaters, and Marvel is ramping up the promotions with a new Walt Disney World popcorn bucket, a new online playlist, and a weekend trip to a literal Knowhere.

Popcorn Bucket

Starting Monday, April 17th, a new Skyliner popcorn bucket will be available at EPCOT for purchase at popcorn carts throughout the park featuring Guardians of the Galaxy characters.

The bucket is a blue Skyliner vehicle featuring Groot and Rocket looking down at something on the ground. Attached to it is a branded Guardians of the Galaxy strap for carrying it around.

This isn’t the first Skyliner popcorn bucket to be released at Walt Disney World, but it is the first to feature a Marvel design. Previous designs include a 50th anniversary yellow bucket, and Mickey and his friends red bucket.

The Playlist

Director James Gunn has put together great soundtracks of classic rock songs for the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films, and he’s done it again for the last film in the trilogy.

Marvel has compiled all of these songs into a “K-GOTG Radio” playlist at Spotify to listen to for free. The playlist features 50 songs and runs about 2 hours and 15 minutes, including station breaks between some songs. It can be found at: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4zwoF5w3MtHnvXyUlYJLw3?si=3762c657a74c4be3

Guardians of the Galaxy - Knowhere CA

Knowhere in California

This last weekend, Marvel took over a building on the way to the Coachella Music Festival in California and transformed it into Knowhere.

Featured in the films, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Knowhere is currently the home base of operations for our heroes.

Knowhere on Earth was located in Banning, California, and featured a Guardians decor along with photo ops, like the Guardians in their spacesuits from Vol. 3, and free branded festival gear for the weekend.

Coachella is returning this upcoming weekend, but Marvel hasn’t said if Knowhere will return with it or if it was just a one weekend promotion.

The Film

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 finds the gang going up against both the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), who holds the key to Rocket’s past, and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), in what writer-director James Gunn says will mark the end of the Guardians in its current iteration.

The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone and Maria Bakalova.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 debuts in theaters on May 5, 2023.

    1. No official time has been given yet. The DVC pass went on sale a little after 5am ET on the 13th, but the site also crashed, so..hopefully things will go smoother for the 20th.
