D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, is celebrating Disney fans across the country as Disney100 kicks off, with a calendar of D23 events for members.
D23 Expo 2023
The hugely popular Destination D23 event returns to Walt Disney World to celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company.
Fans will be among the first to hear exciting announcements and see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney—and relive favorite memories with behind-the-scenes stories, special guests, and so much more at this epic event.
It will be held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort from September 8-10, 2023. Tickets are not on sale yet, but I highly recommend you reserve your room now if you’re planning to go.
The Disney Blog’s own authorized travel planning expert, Stacey at Pixie Vacations, can help you make all the reservations. Booking your travel with Stacey not only helps support this blog, but you’ll have access to her wealth of Disney knowledge to help you book your trip.
Disney100: The Exhibition
D23 members will be among the first to see “Disney100: The Exhibition” when it makes its global premiere at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 15.
D23 will also invite members to The Walt Disney Studios Lot on a later date for an exclusive event in honor of 100 years of beloved Disney stories and characters.
February 2023 Events
Here are the two events scheduled for D23 Gold members in February:
D23 Member Night at Disney’s The Lion King in Los Angeles
D23 Gold Members have the chance to purchase select premium seats for Friday, February 3, 2023, opening weekend performance of Disney’s The Lion King, at Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The package includes premium seating and a post-show Q&A with members of the cast and crew. Details and purchase link can be found at D23.com.
D23 Member Night at Disney’s Frozen in Costa Mesa, CA
D23 Gold Members have the chance to purchase select premium seats for the Sunday, February 5, 2023, evening performance of Disney’s Frozen at Segerstrom Hall in Costa Mesa, California. I had the chance to see the touring production earlier this year, and you can read my review online.
The package includes premium seating and a post-show Q&A with members of the cast and crew. Details and purchase link can be found at D23.com.
There is also a planned D23 Member Night at Disney’s Hercules at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey on March 18, but tickets are not on sale yet.
Upcoming Events
The dates haven’t been set, but D23 will celebrate several milestone anniversaries with in-person events for fan-favorite films, including “Finding Nemo” (20th), “Mulan” (25th), and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (35th).
They also have Halloween events planned celebrating the anniversaries of spooky movies including “Hocus Pocus” (30th), Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (30th), and “Halloweentown” (25th).
Walt Disney frequently cited Marceline, Missouri, a town where he spent his early childhood, as one of his greatest influences. Its lovely main thoroughfare was an inspiration for Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A., and D23 Members will have a chance to return in June 2023 for a very special hometown event.
D23 Gold Members will also enjoy advance and opening night screenings of new Disney films at locations across the country.

If you aren’t a D23 member, they have single and duo memberships available. As an added incentive, this year’s Annual D23 Gold Member Collector Set features the Mickey Mouse “Leader of the Club” Milestone Statue, seen below.
