In a note late last night from the desk of Santa Claus, we were alerted that starting today, Dec 16, 2022, the hit Disney+ series, “The Santa Clauses,” will have special airings on Freeform, FX, ABC, and Disney Channel.
The Details
Disney is using its synergy power to introduce “The Santa Clauses” series to non-Disney+ subscribers by airing the first two episodes across its various broadcast and cable networks.
Here is the viewing schedule:
- Friday, Dec. 16, at 8pm EST/PST on the Freeform channel, following a marathon of “The Santa Claus” trilogy of movies.
- Saturday, Dec 17, at 8pm EST/PST on the FX channel.
- Saturday, Dec 24, at 3:30pm EST/12:30pm PST on ABC.
- Sunday, Dec. 25, at 7pm EST/PST on the Disney Channel.
Disney utilized this same synergy to allow more people to watch last month for the hit Disney+ series, “Andor.”
About The Series
“The Santa Clauses” is a continuation of the “The Santa Clause” trilogy of movies starring Disney Legend Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, who ends up becoming Santa Claus and moving his family to the North Pole.
In the series, Calvin has been Santa Claus for nearly thirty years, and he’s as jolly as ever, but he starts struggling to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family.
When he discovers there is a way to retire, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband. However, the search is more difficult than planned.
Originally conceived as a six-episode limited series, Disney+ opted to order a second season following the airing of the final episode on December 14, 2022.
