Disney’s Animal Kingdom To Offer Limited Time “Avatar: The Way of Water” Nighttime Show and Menu Items

Disney's Animal Kingdom - Avatar Tree of Life show

In case you haven’t heard, “Avatar: The Way of Water” hits theaters on December 16, 2022, and starting this weekend, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will offer limited-time nighttime show and new food items in honor of the film.

Tree of Life

For a limited time beginning December 12, the Tree of Life will awaken in the evenings with an all-new experience inspired by Pandora – The World of Avatar, and the film, “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

Produced by Lightstorm Entertainment in collaboration with Disney Live Entertainment, this new story sequence illuminates the park’s iconic Tree of Life with the magic of nature.

Here is a video of actor Stephen Lang, who plays Colonel Miles Quaritch from the film, talking about the show:

  • The Metkayina Mousse is a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, decorated with raspberry gelee, mango coulis, boba pearls and finished off with a milk and white chocolate garnish.
  • The new Ilu Splash Margarita (for Guests 21 or older) is a mix of kiwi Monin syrup with lime juice, sour mix, Corazon Tequila Blanco, and a floating slice of Kiwi.

The Movie

“Avatar: The Way of Water” is set more than a decade after the events of the first film, and begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.

It is one of three planned sequels involving the Sully family, and the film has already made several year-end Best of 2022 lists.
