To celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Disneyland Resort will host a celebration of the movie and its culture starting November 11, 2022.
Through January 8, 2023, celebrate the arrival of new visiting warriors, taste Wakanda-inspired delicacies, discover props from the film, and more in Avengers Campus and beyond at Disney California Adventure park, plus, pose with a special art installation at the Downtown Disney District.
Meet M’Baku
As previously revealed, M’Baku, one of Wakanda’s greatest warriors and chieftain of the Jabari Clan, will make his way to Avengers Campus.
While there, M’Baku will invite recruits to join in “The Way of the Jabari,” an all-new experience that will share some of the culture of the Jabari Clan through chants and percussion.
The Celebration Garden
Nearby the Campus, head over to The Black Panther Celebration Garden, which will honor the legacy of the Black Panther in Wakandan lore.
This celebratory space invites guests to relax and reflect on the legendary protectors of the Kingdom of Wakanda.
Wakanda-Inspired Food
The Flavors of Wakanda marketplace, located in the Hollywood Backlot, will offer a variety of brand-new Wakanda-inspired dishes.
New items include:
- Peri-Peri Chicken with yellow Jollof rice (above photo)
- Maafe, a ground peanut stew with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, black-eyed peas and spices, served with naan (photo below)
- Butterfly Pea Tea Lemonade
- Dawa beverage, consisting of vodka, lemonade, honey, ginger beer and butterfly pea tea
Plus, Shawarma Palace and Shawarma Palace Too will add a new item to the menu with the Wakandan Roasted Pork Wrap, featuring spiced pork with black garlic sauce and chermoula.
Drink Like A Warrior
Shuri’s panther gauntlets with drinking cup will also debut during the event and can be found at the Flavors of Wakanda marketplace, Shawarma Palace, Shawarma Palace Too, and at select vending carts near Avengers Campus.
If you’re looking to pick up more items, head over to the Super Store Featuring Avengers Campus located in Hollywood Land, you’ll discover props and costumes from the film, plus Black Panther-themed gear.
More Photo Ops
Outside the park, head over to the Downtown Disney District to find a very special, limited-time mural celebrating the new film.
Located outside the building adjacent to Star Wars Trading Post, it is created by artist Nikkolas Smith, who previously created the art installation “King Chad” in honor of Chadwick Boseman.
