The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were held the evening of September 12, 2022, and by the end of the night, Disney branded productions won 4 Emmys.
Added to the 2022 Creative Emmys wins, which were held earlier this month, the total Emmys won by Disney for 2022 is 26.
During the show, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” series won awards for acting and writing, for a total of 3 wins out of its 7 total nominations.
Hulu’s “Dopesick” and “The Dropout” won an acting award for each, which makes it 2 total Emmys for the former.
As usual the Emmys only have so much room during the “In Memoriam” segment, but unfortunately Pat Carroll (voice of Ursula from “The Little Mermaid”) was one of the passings left out of the telecast.
Upon winning her award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on “Abbott Elementary,” Sheryl Lee Ralph seemed truly stunned, but upon reaching the stage delivered a truly unique thank you.
Take a look:
It was definitely one of the highlights of the show.
Congratulations to all of the Emmy winners this year!
