One of the most anticipated Disney+ series is “The Santa Clauses” starring Tim Allen, and almost the entire cast appeared at D23 Expo 2022 to show the first teaser trailer for the show, along with announcing a debut date.
About the Series
When asked onstage why they chose to return to the North Pole, Allen joked, “You made me!”. He then elaborated, “You came up with a script so good, I had to do it.”
In the 6-episode limited series (which Allen kept referring to as “chapters”), Scott Calvin (Allen) is ready to step down from his Santa duties and provide his family a new life south of the North Pole.
With his 65th birthday on the horizon, Scott — whose Santa magic is beginning to fade — searches for a replacement Santa Claus suitable enough to manage the workshop and take care of the elves.
Returning for the search are Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Clause, and David Krumholtz as Bernard the Elf.
Joining them are Kal Pen, Laura San Giacomo, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, Devin Bright, Austin Kane, Matilda Lawler, Teagan Johnson, Nico Bustos, and Rupali Redd.
Jack Burditt, who created the Allen-led comedy series “Last Man Standing,” serves as showrunner and executive producer on the Disney Original series. Allen executive produces alongside Kevin Hench, Richard Baker and Rick Messina.
The Trailer
In the trailer, we get reaquainted with the Calvin family, and the denizens of the North Pole, as Santa conducts a search for his replacement.
This allows for some fun cameos, as we see in the trailer.
