This morning, Disney+ released a new more in-depth trailer for its upcoming series, “Star Wars: Andor,” as well as announcing a new start date.
The Series
“Star Wars: Andor” is a prequel to the “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and it centers on the character of Cassian Andor, once again played by actor Diego Luna.
The series is set during the height of the Empire, five years before “Rogue One,” and shows everything that leads to Andor’s actions in the movie.
The series was originally going to be a limited run of a one season of 12 episodes, but that has been extended for a season two already as they realized there was so much story to tell.
Creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy said at “Star Wars Celebration” that the final episode of the second season will “walk you into ‘Rogue.’”
The Trailer
This second trailer shows more of the cast, and a bit of the intricasies of the lives of the characters, many of whom are leading dual lives working with the Empire while they try to destroy it.
“I need all the heroes I can get,” says Luthen (Stellan Skarsgård).
