It may have been the first day of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC22), but Disney+ released a bunch of news about the upcoming “National Treasure: Edge of History,” including a first look trailer.
Are you ready? Let’s dig in…
Another Movie Character Joins the Series
Previously, only Justin Bartha was confirmed to bring his movie character of Riley Poole to the series, but at SDCC22, it was revealed another actor from the films will be appearing, too.
It was announced that Harvey Keitel, who played Peter Sadusky, will join the series as a guest star in the same role. Sadusky is the FBI agent who was constantly at odds with Nicolas Cage’s character in the film franchise.
But What About Nicolas Cage?
At the SDCC22 panel, the cast was asked about the possibility of Cage appearing in the series.
The answer? “We wanted him, but he was very busy…maybe one day. But he’s very present in the series.”
Not exactly a no, but not a resounding yes, either. Maybe if the series gets more than one season?
The panel featured series stars Lisette Olivera, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, Lyndon Smith, along with executive producers Cormac and Marianne Wibberley.
A First Look at The Show
Disney+ released a short 18 second teaser for “National Treasure: Edge of History” at SDCC22, which has made it’s way online.
It doesn’t give away much about the show, but it is the first look at Olivera as the lead character Jess Morales.
Go Behind The Scenes on the Series
In addition to the teaser, Disney+ has released a behind-the-scenes featurette about the show that thankfully does give viewers more of an idea of what to expect.
It also introduces the cast and their characters:
