During the summer, ABC’s “Good Morning America” takes over Central Park in New York City most Fridays to host a headliner concert that airs toward the end of the morning’s newscast.
This summer is no exception, and this year the line-up doesn’t just have musicians…the cast of “Hamilton” will be performing on one of the dates.
The 14th season of the GMA Summer Concert Series kicked off with K-Pop group aespa on July 8, and here is the remainder of the schedule:
- July 15 – OneRepublic
- July 22 – Macklemore w/ Tones and I
- August 5 – “Hamilton”
- August 12 – Megan Thee Stallion
- August 19 – Demi Lovato
- August 26 – Ozuna
- September 2 – Black Eyed Peas
Tickets are free, and are available to request at 1iota.com. All guests must be 16 or older.
The concerts will take place at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Masks are encouraged due to the large crowd, but not required.
Due to the fact that concerts happen during the broadcast, gates tend to open around 6am-6:30am for each performance. There are no reserved seats.

“Good Morning America” airs nationwide on ABC from 7am to 9am ET. The performances usually take place in the second part of the show.
Most aired performances include two to three songs, along with a brief on-stage interview.
If you miss it on TV, the “Good Morning America” YouTube channel usually has the performance clips later in the day, and sometimes the interviews, too.
Here is one of aespa’s performances from July 8 so you can get an idea of what the concerts are like:
Disney is the parent company of ABC.
Let us know in the comments which performer(s) are you excited to see? For me, definitely the cast of “Hamilton.”
