Early this morning (July 8), the official Disneyland Instagram account was hacked by someone calling themself “David DO.”
What We Know
Around 6am ET/3am PT, the Disneyland Instagram account was hacked and the hacker managed to post four separate photos to the account under the name of “David DO.”
These posts were filled with profanity and racist/homophobic slurs and seem to be challenging someone named “Jerome” along with “Disney employees.”
The hacker also tagged several other Instagram accounts, but it is unknown if they are friends and will help lead police to the hacker.
The Aftermath
After thousands of likes, the hack was discovered and the posts were erased by Disney by 8am ET/5am PT.
It’s not known how this person managed to gain access to the Disneyland Instagram account. Was it a stranger hack or a previous employee with access to the logins?
When we hear more, we’ll pass on the news.
Update: A Disneyland spokesperson released the following statement, “We worked quickly to remove the reprehensible content, secure our accounts, and our security teams are conducting an investigation.”
The Posts
I managed to screencap the posts before they were taken down. I have censored all profanity, slurs, and relevant tags, along with visible other accounts who commented.
Your Thoughts?
What are your thoughts about the Disneyland Instagram account getting hacked? Let us know in the comments.
Why even include this topic in the blog? All you’ve done by showing screenshots is give this individual attention which is what they wanted.
While we included the screen shots, they were censored to remove any actual links or usernames. Sometimes news is bad but it’s still news, and this is a news blog. You still have the choice of what you choose to read. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion.
