Boba Fett and Fennec Shand To Appear at Disneyland’s ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ Starting May 28

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand - Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Among the many news bits released yesterday at “Star Wars Celebration” convention in Anaheim, it was revealed that starting today, May 28, bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand will be appearing at “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” at Disneyland.

The planet Batuu and its Black Spire Outpost are a destination long familiar with bounty hunters and even more colorful characters, and now this feared duo will be strolling the streets…perhaps looking for someone or just more trouble.

If you’re not familiar with the two Star Wars characters, the recent limited series, “The Book of Boba Fett,” on Disney+, will catch you up to speed.

The Mandalorian

After announcing that Boba Fett and Fennec Shand will be appearing at Disneyland’s “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” it was also announced that Din Djarin, known as the Mandalorian, and Grogu, the child who found protection with Mando, would be joining them at a later date.

My guess is the latter duo will appear near the release date of the upcoming third season of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+, which we’ll have news on this afternoon.

Sadly, while these character appearances were announced for “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” at Disneyland, it was not mentioned if any of the four would be appearing at “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” at Walt Disney World.

Insert my sad face here.

In announcing the character appearances, Disney says, “We are committed to the long history of Batuu and the collection of amazing characters who inhabit the outpost including our legacy characters and original characters and know that we will feel the same about new and future characters from the ever-expanding galaxy of Star Wars storytelling.

While we as visitors may be able to experience different stories throughout Star Wars history, the characters on Batuu can not. They will remain in their specific story and timeline and won’t intersect with other characters or stories that would not be appropriate for them.”

What that means is as they add charcters to “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” if the characters don’t meet in the movies, series, or books, they won’t be found roaming around together at the parks.

So if you’re at Disneyland today or in the near future, and you find yourself in “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” you might just find yourself face to face with Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Just act calm and don’t cause any trouble.
