Sources say Portland-based ice cream shop brand Salt & Straw is set to open its newest location at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs on April 20, 2022.
Founded in 2011, the company offers flavors ranging from Double Fold vanilla and Chocolate Gooey Brownie to unusual flavors like Honey Lavender and Pear and Blue Cheese. They also offer vegan options.
The actual flavors vary by store location to reflect the tastes and ingredients that are local. They also offer limited time monthly flavors.
I’m told the best way to enjoy Salt & Straw’s many delicious flavors is with an ice cream flight that comes with waffle chip dippers.
This is the second Salt & Straw on Disney property. The first is located in the Downtown Disney District of Disneyland, and opened in 2018.
The company also has two South Florida locations in Miami and Coconut Grove.
Co-founders Kim and Tyler Male will be there for the ribbon cutting, and word is Salt & Straw plans to offer the first 100 customers a free scoop of ice cream on opening day.
The shop is located on the side of the AMC Disney Springs 24 building, near the box office, in the space where Something Silver used to be located.
Look for the exterior paint job that looks like an ice cream cone, as seen in this picture from April 9, 2022.
Have you tried a Salt & Straw ice cream flavor before? We love the creativity in their non-traditional flavors.
