Not much is known about the upcoming season three of the Star Wars series, “The Mandalorian,” but word comes that actor Christopher Lloyd has been cast in an undisclosed role.
Lloyd first rose to fame in the ABC series “Taxi,” which ran from 1978-1983, but he’s best known as Dr. Emmett Brown from the 1980’s “Back to the Future” movie trilogy.
The third season is reportedly filming now in Southern California, with executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni at the helm.
“The Mandalorian” stars Pedro Pascal as the titular character, who also guested on the show’s spin-off series, “The Book of Boba Fett.”
It is unknown who else will be appearing in season three of the series, which currently has a vague “end of 2022” release date.
In the meantime LucasFilm and Disney+ are concentrating on the May 25 release of “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
