The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers To Open at Disney’s Boardwalk in 2023

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers To Open at Disney’s Boardwalk in 2023

Disney has announced that The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be opening at the Boardwalk at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas at Walt Disney World in 2023.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be a new table service restaurant and bakery that will reportedly be taking over the space formerly occupied by ESPN Club, which never reopened from the pandemic closure. No official spot on the Boardwalk was made in the announcement, though.

Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, there are currently two locations for The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which has won many accolades since opening in 2014, including making Oprah’s Favorite Things List for 2019 for the Blueberry and Maple Walnut Crumb Cake. Rogers also has her first cake cookbook due out this spring.

Disney says this restaurant will offer both savory and dessert menus, along with afternoon tea service.

A look at her other locations’ menus shows dishes like Truffle Pommes Frites, Salmon Sliders, salads, quiches, and a 12-Layer Club Sandwich on the savory menu.

And there will be plenty of pies, cheesecakes, cookies/bars, French pastries, and of course, Rogers’ award-winning cakes.

You can check out the menus (which may be different for the WDW location) and her Victorian theming, which will fit right in on the Boardwalk, at TheCakeBakeShop.com.

Disney also announced that with this new bakery opening, the BoardWalk Bakery will become a new sandwich shop. When they share more details, we’ll pass them on.

  1. Very disappointed that ESPN Club won’t reopen. It was our family’s go to spot after a day in the parks.

  2. The Cake Bake Shop is very good but also VERY expensive. My bill for a Caesar salad, mimosa, a slice of cake plus one slice to go was over $90. I can’t imagine what it would cost with the Disney premium added on top of that.
