‘West Side Story,’ ‘Encanto,’ and More Win 2022 Hollywood Critics Association Awards

2022 Hollywood Critics Association Awards - West Side Story, Encanto, Cruella

The Hollywood Critics Association held its fifth annual awards this week, and several Disney-branded films were honored with wins.

Actress Ariana DeBose won her category for “West Side Story.” Following her wins at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards this bodes well for her Oscar chances later this month.

The much lauded “Encanto” also received a win, as did the docufilm “Summer of Soul,” the animated “Us Again” (which also recently won a NAACP Image Award), the live-action “Cruella,” Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings,” and Searchlight Picture’s “Nightmare Alley.”
