As part of the upcoming 2022 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, Disneyland will be bringing back “Soarin’ Over California” for guests to enjoy for a limited time.
Starting March 4, “Soarin’ Around the World” will be replaced with the original film, allowing guests to enjoy the unforgettable sights, sounds and scents of the Golden State aboard this high-flying attraction.
The journey begins as the foggy clouds of San Francisco part to reveal the Golden Gate Bridge.
Incredible IMAX digital projection and spectacular aerial footage simulate the graceful motion of flight, as guests explore picturesque locations including Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, San Diego harbor, Malibu at dusk, and the lights of downtown Los Angeles.
The journey ends with a triumphant flight over Disneyland Park.
“Soarin’ Over California” was an opening-day attraction at Disney California Adventure on February 8, 2001. The music was written and recorded for the attraction by Academy Award®-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith.
It was replaced by “Soarin’ Around the World” in 2016, but returned for a limited engagement in 2019, and again in 2020 when the engagement was cut short by the pandemic closure of the park.
The 2022 return of “Soarin’ Over California” is currently scheduled to end on April 26, which is also when the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival ends.
