Last October, we told you about plans for the Disney Vacation Club to expand and enhance The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and we’ve just found out work will start March 1, 2022.
This expansion will add almost 200 resort studios by remodeling one of the existing buildings at the Grand Floridian and making it a DVC property.
There will also be upgrades and enhancements made to existing deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas.
Unfortuntely this means there will be some noise coming from all of this work.
Disney says construction will only take place during daytime hours, typically from 9am to 5pm, so nobody will be disturbed by the noise at night. However, guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours.
They also say that they expect that most resort amenities that are currently open, like dining, recreation, and merchandise locations, will remain available to guests throughout the duration of this work.
Guests should refer to the “Know Before You Go” page for the most up-to-date information about the amenities that will be available during their stay.
The original time frame had the expansion opening this summer, but now they’re saying work at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will continue through next year. If we hear of a more definite end date, we’ll let you know.
