Disney+ has just dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming “Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers” movie coming to the streamer on May 20, 2022.
Announced during Disney+ Day last November, the movie is hybrid live-action/CG animated feature based on everyone’s favorite animated chipmunks from their Rescue Rangers phase.
It appears the characters are the subject of a TV expose of the “Rescue Rangers” show, detailing the price of fame, and what the duo and their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack, and Zipper are up to now.
It seems Chip is living a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman, while Dale has had “CGI surgery” (which is why the two are animated differently) and works the convention circuit to relive his glory days.
When a former castmate disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken relationship, and take on their Rescue Rangers personas once again to save their friend.
John Mulaney voices Chip and Andy Samberg voices Dale. Original Rescue Ranger actor Corey Burton once again voices Zipper in the film.
Others in the film include Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Flula Borg, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key, Tress MacNeille, Tim Robinson, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons, and Chris Parnell. And let’s now forget animated stars like Roger Rabbit, the ponies from My Little Pony, and Scrooge McDuck.

The original “Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers” series debuted in 1989, and ran for three years. The first season is available on Disney+.
