May 2022 is shaping up to be a big month for fans of the Star Wars character of Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Marvel Comics announcing a new “Star Wars: Obi-Wan” series.
The five-issue miniseries finds the elder Kenobi (played by Sir Alec Guinness in the movies) on the planet of Tatooine documenting earlier adventures in his journals.
The comics will be written by Christopher Cantwell, with art by Ario Anindito, with each issue telling a story about Obi-Wan at a different stage in his life.
The tales will span Obi-Wan’s entire life, including his days as a Jedi Initiate youngling, his Padawan missions, experiencing the Clone Wars as a Jedi Knight, and facing new threats as a Jedi Master.
I think it’ll be interesting to learn more about Obi-Wan’s life as a younger Jedi, even though we got a small glimpse of his early days in the movie prequels.
This comic miniseries will also have to tie into the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series coming to Disney+. Rumors are the series will debut in May, as well.
Will you be checking out these comics to learn more about Obi-Wan? Let me know in the comments.
