Boatwright’s Dining Hall and Story Book Dining at Artist Point to Reopen at Walt Disney World

Boatwright’s Dining Hall and Story Book Dining at Artist Point to Reopen at Walt Disney World

Two more dining options will soon be available to guests again at Walt Disney World when Story Book Dining at Artist Point and Boatwright’s Dining Hall reopen later this month.

If you want the flavors of Louisiana, Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will be reopening for dinner only starting December 14.

Signature dishes will include General Fulton’s Prime Rib, Deep-South Shrimp and Grits, Boatwright’s Jambalaya, and the plant-based Boatwright’s Harvest Jambalaya.

Big eaters (hey, we all work up an appetite walking the parks!) will want to check out the all-you-care-to-enjoy Chef’s Platter featuring ribs, Nashville hot chicken, smoked sausage, and barbecued beef brisket, with mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, street corn, and green beans (top picture).

Whichever you choose, definitely save room for the Mississippi Mud Crème Brûlée, a decadent chocolate brûlée with a chocolate shortbread cookie.

I have heard several items will no longer be available on the menu when the restaurant reopens. Disney has removed dishes including the Andouille Sausage-Cheese Dip, Crawfish Bisque, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Turbodog Barbecued Ribs. I’ve also heard the sides of Crawfish Macaroni & Cheese, and Lump Crab Cakes are also gone, as are the Lemon Chess Bar and Traditional Bread Pudding (NO!) desserts.

Story Book Dining at Artist Point

Story Book Dining at Artist Point, inspired by the Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, will reopen December 16 at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

With this Character Dining experience, guests will see Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and The Queen stroll through the Enchanted Forest, while enjoying a bountiful prix fixe dinner with the choice of individually plated entrées, and shared starters and desserts.

Story Book Dining at Artist Point - Prime Rib

Disney says the Royal Prime Rib Roast and the vegetarian A Stroll Through Nature are both returning as well as the decadent “Poison” Apple dessert with dark chocolate-apple mousse.

Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the sugar encrusted “poison” apples.

And for those of legal drinking age, the Enchanted Apple cocktail, with a hint of sour apple, pairs well with the dishes.

Reservations for both restaurants will open tomorrow, December 2, 2021.
