To say it’s been a tough 18 months for the cruise industry would be the understatement of the century. But with new safety protocols in place, including vaccination and testing requirements, and reduced capacity, cruise lines are once again sailing to various destinations around the globe.
Disney Cruise Line was one of the early ship lines to return to carrying passengers. Other than an initial stumble out of the gate with communicating testing protocols, I’ve heard nothing but high marks for how Captain Mickey and his crew has handled the return.
So it’s no surprise that Disney Cruise Line has once again won awards from the Conde Nast Traveler readers. This marks the 10th straight year DCL has been honored as the #1 top large cruise line in the world.
That’s a real testament to the hard work and excellent customer service by every Disney Cruise Line crew member. I hope Mickey is depositing a little bonus cheese in their spending accounts.
Since there wasn’t a lot of traveling on ships last year, the ratings used by Conde Nast Traveler took into account the experience readers most-longed for when they could not travel and the ships they wanted to experience first once restrictions were lifted. More than 800,000 readers experiences were considered as part of the rankings of cruise lines, hotels, resorts, and more.
Disney Cruise Lines current sails with four cruise ships, the 2,400-passenger Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, and the 4,000-passenger Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. A new 4,000-passenger Disney Wish will come on line in 2022 with two more similar sized ships coming between 2023 and 2025.
Definitely a big win for Disney Cruise Line again. Read the entire list of Conde Nast Traveler readers’ choice awards and which cities and hotels won in your neck of the woods.
