Even though a lot of new attractions are opening for Walt Disney World‘s upcoming 50th Anniversary, older attractions are needing a little attention, too, so there are some upcoming refurbishments at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that guests should be aware of.
Beginning November 1, Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will undergo its annual refurbishment, and is expected to reopen in mid-December. No changes are expected to be made to the ride.
After the holidays, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will close for a refurbishment, including a software update, beginning January 4, 2022 until mid-April 2022.
During the refurbishment, the attraction will periodically run for testing purposes only. No one will be allowed to ride the attraction at this time.
The ride experience at Expedition Everest will not change as a result of this refurbishment, according to Walt Disney World.
Keep these refurbishment periods in mind when booking your trip to Walt Disney World if you have either of these attractions on your “must-do” list.
Why would the refurb be scheduled now? How about after the 50th Anniversary celebration?!
